The Inside Edition further reports that after vowing to allow her hair to flourish, the results over the years are the stuff of dreams as her hair is currently at a staggering 5 feet, 7 inches.

In other words, her hair measures 1.7 metres, which is the average height of a full grown man.

Patel now goes into the 2020 edition of the Guiness World Records book for having the longest set of hair for a teenager.

According to records, the world’s longest documented hair belongs to Xie Qiuping – a Chinese national which stood at 5.627 metres.

Qiuping had been growing her hair since 1973 when she was only 13.

So what is it like having such long hair? Patel admits that it is predictably not easy, but it is all worth it in the end.

For one, drying the hair is an uphill task and it takes up to 30 minutes.

The brushing part is also another challenge which takes up to an hour to get the perfect shape.

“I feel very excited and healthy and it’s a big deal for me to be in a world record,” she said.
