Britney Spears is the queen of ups and downs. From her breakout first album back in 1999, through her spectacular performances on various awards shows throughout the early 2000s, through her very public meltdown as her personal life spun out of control, through her subsequent bumpy rise, she has remained an almost constant media presence. Of late, she seems to be focused on a comparatively calm engagement to her former manager, Jason Trawick, and her music career is taking a back seat after an extended period of touring and promoting her most recent album, “Femme Fatale” in 2011. There are rumors that she recorded a track with will.i.am, and that she is supposedly going to judge the second season of the US version of “The X Factor”. She is remaining cagey, however, and surprisingly close-lipped about her future, which is a marked change from the Britney Spears of old. She has also begun purchasing a number of properties, including two in the last 12 months. One of which was a rather strange home in Los Angeles. Ms. Spears’ sense of style has always been a little interesting. It was she who suggested that her schoolgirl uniform in “… Baby One More Time” be tied up Lolita-style, and who can forget the infamous underwear-less incident. Her new mansion is no exception.
A mixture of heavy, over-the-top, and girly, the $20 million, 20,000 square foot Tudor-style compound houses ten bedrooms and thirteen bathrooms. It also includes high-ceilings, a ridiculous number of windows, a simply massive kitchen, a game room complete with foosball and arcade games, a garden, a swimming pool, a hot tub, a tennis court, a mini-Starbucks and a couple of restaurants to boot, just in case she and her family are over the paparazzi, and want to dine away from prying eyes. It is still unclear whether she is purchasing the home outright, or renting it at the bargain price of $25,000 per month. However she has worked it out, the stunning compound is now part of her property portfolio, and with a potential deal with “The X Factor”, and album sales that are still going strong, it will most likely not be her last purchase this year.
