He played a character named Moss, a truck driver that continually harassed Miss Daisie Duke, in the episode titled: One Armed Bandits. He has also had guest appearances on shows such as, It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia, Jag, 7th Heaven, and even a surprise visit to the “Late, Late, Show With Craig Ferguson” as his TV character, Principal Richard Belding. This was his most memorable role. As Principal Belding in the Saved by the Bell television sitcom, which began in 1989, and was a spin off of the earlier sitcom, Good Morning Miss Bliss, which began in 1987. In 1993, he continued his role as Principal Belding in the spin-off sitcom, Saved by the Bell: The New Class. He has also had acting roles in films, such as, National Lampoon’s Ratko: The Dictator’s Son, playing the part of Dean Sitlong, as well as his acting roles in Red Water, Max Keeble’s Big Move, An Ordinary Killer and many others.

Dennis Haskins was born on November 18, 1950, in Chattanooga, Tennessee and attended Notre Dame High School, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He attended the University of Tennessee, in Chattanooga and was a basketball player on the UTC team, as well as a fraternity brother of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After College, and before he began his acting career, he was a music manager, agent, and concert promoter. He has worked with recording artists such as, Tom Jones, Greg Allman and Earth, Wind, and Fire. He also appeared as a contestant on a television game show called, Scrabble, with host Chuck Woolery. Since then, Dennis Haskins appears to have gone back to the music profession, in a way. He has made a number of recordings for albums, cds and dvds. He is a big fan of Karaoke and has always loved to sing along to his favorite tunes. He has recorded an album titled, “Karaoke With Your Favorite Principal, Dennis Haskins, aka. Mr. Belding”.

Dennis Haskins is still one of America’s favorite television Principals, and is still a big hit with the young people, in the high schools, as well as, college campuses. Haskins visits College Campuses to entertain the young people with his “Mr. Belding on Campus” show. He was honored by UTC with an award for the Most Distinguished Alumni of 2000, and has an atheltic decathlon named in his honor for the regional high school. He also tours with our USO to entertain our troops Kosovo, Macedonia, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and other countries, as well as making appearances for several charities. Saved by the Bell may have ended, but our beloved Principal Belding, is just getting started.
