Jakobe Ford was an athlete with astonishing accolades in his name. Ford was a graduate of Shadle Park High School and a Junior Olympic triple gold medalist.
The track and field athlete was the first-ever to win the high jump, long jump, and triple jump at the junior events since 1967.
Further, he was the winner of the 2017 WIAA State 3A championships and was a recipient of a 2017 USATF Youth athlete of the year.
Likewise, the medalist was known to be preparing for the 2024 Olympics as he was a record-breaking high-jumper in his high school and college days.
In addition, Ford was the winner of the 2019 Hoopfest dunk contest and had signed with Trident Sports Management as a professional track athlete in early July.
But all the hopes and dreams of the athlete as well as his family have shattered as he became a victim of the Spokane shooting and is confirmed dead.

Jakobe Ford Death: Spokane Shooting Incident Explained
Jakobe Ford was shot and killed in the late-night in Saturday shooting in downtown Spokane.
The local athlete took his last breath near Sprague and Washington.
Ford was identified by his half-sister Sequoia Chatterley and now his family and friends are mourning the loss of the beloved athlete.
The incident took place in the 400 block of West Sprague Avenue around 11:30 pm.
As for the suspect, the 25-year-old Michael Le has been arrested after a short chase by police and has been placed in the Spokane County Jail.
Further, the police believe there were no other suspects but have asked the locals to come forward if they have witnessed the murder.
