Prichard Colon sustained a severe brain injury at the age of 24 during the mid-card super-welterweight match in 2015.

Actually, Williams initially hit Prichard on the left rear of his skull which left the latter one in intense pain. Seeing Colon crumple down, the referee halted the match. But, who knew his opponent still continued to hit him even in a game pause.
The last sentence Prichard told his mother after losing the bout was that he can not see and later collapsed in his dressing room.
Regarding his injury update in 2021, the ex-boxer is gradually in a progressing state now. Though he can’t speak clearly, he does understand and use gestures like widening eyes to say yes and speak the word ‘mah’ to say no.
