Katumba Wamala’s daughter, Brenda Nantongo, has been confirmed dead after an assassination attempt at the General of Uganda. Here’s what we know.
Katumba Wamala is a Ugandan General who was appointed on December 14, 2019.
Currently, Katumba is serving as the Minister of Works and Transport in the Ugandan cabinet.
Wamala previously served as Minister of State for Works in the cabinet.
In addition, he had also served as the inspector general of police (IGP) and the chief of defense forces of Uganda. It is the highest military rank in the Uganda People’s Defense Force.

Who Was Katumba Wamala Daughter Brenda Nantongo?
Brenda Nantongo was the daughter of General Katumba Wamala.
She is one of the two victims of the assassination of Katumba that took place on June 1, 2021, near his home in Kisaasi.
Brenda was pronounced dead shortly after the assassination attempt. The car they were in was shot seven times.
As per reports, Brenda had just returned from the United States after completing her studies. She’d recently started working in Uganda.
Further, Brenda was last seen with her father during the swearing-in of the MPs of the 11th Parliament.

But, she certainly seemed like she was in her mid-twenties at the time of her demise.

Brenda Nantongo: Katumba Wamala Shooting
Brenda Nantonogo was accompanying her father, Katumba Wamala, when they were attacked in Kisaasi, a Kampala suburb.
There were four attackers, and they appeared on motorcycles. Further, they opened fire at Wamala’s car.
Wamala’s daughter, as well as the driver, were pronounced dead shortly after the attack.
On the other hand, Wamala sustained injuries in both shoulders and was rushed to the hospital. As per our knowledge, the General is currently alive and is undergoing treatment.
Furthermore, the assailants escaped the crime scene, but the hunt for the perpetrators is in full swing.
