Bryshere Gray, the Empire actor, has been arrested by authorities after he reportedly assaulted his wife. He is known for playing Hakeem Lyon on the music-drama series Empire.
The actor was detained after he allegedly beat up his partner for hours. Most fans were shocked to even know that the star had a wife. The alleged victim called 911 on Gray who is being held in detention.
Who Is Bryshere Gray’s Wife? Have Her Photos Been Revealed?
Bryshere Ike Gray is married but the identity of his wife is still unknown. However, this is not the first time that his wife has made the headlines. Before this, he was ‘exposed’ by a fan.
The actor personally reached out to a female fan and wanted to meet up with her that night. The fan then confirmed his identity via a FaceTime call, they met.
Gray told the fan that he was single but that he recently had a baby. The fan and actor continued to meet until Gray did not show up for a scheduled meet up.
After this, the fan was contacted by a woman claiming to be Gray’s wife. She posted their conversation online, in fact, she posted Snapchat screenshots of their chat on a gossip website.
She then researched and found out that his mother also followed the woman who claimed to be his wife along with photos with him wearing a wedding ring.
As of July 15th, 2020, the identity of the wife has not been revealed. Likewise, the photos of the wife are also yet to be revealed.
Bryshere Facing Domestic Violence Charges
The police were first alerted to the altercation around 10:15 pm. The cops attended a call at Circle K gas station. The reported victim called a passerby and asked for their help.
The woman had bruises and marks all over her body according to the police. Her own statement alleged that Gray had physically assaulted her for hours and even strangled her causing the victim to lose consciousness.
When the cops arrived, Gray locked himself in his home and refused to co-operate with them. Later, he surrendered at around 7 am. He was taken to Maricopa County Jail.
He has 3 charges against him, assault (domestic violence), aggravated assault (strangulation), and disorderly conduct.
The actor has not been bailed out and is facing serious implications. If the court finds him guilty for a misdemeanor, he will pay a $2,000 fine and serve up to a year in jail for the domestic violence charge alone.
Gray’s Show Ended Earlier In 2020
The actor is best known for his role in Empire but the show ended in 2020. Even before the show’s final season, he was rarely a part of the cast.
As a matter of fact, he had minimal appearances in the final season too. He has also not worked in any other project after the show went off the air. His last project was the drama film Canal Street, which was mediocre at best.
Bryshere Gray Is Not The Only Empire Alum Facing Criminal Charges
Before Bryshere, there was Jussie, to be more specific. One of the main casts on the show and the actor ho played Gray’s older brother on the show, Jussie Smollett.
Smollett became the talk of the town after he faked a hate crime claiming that he was attacked by two men wearing MAGA hats who were screaming racial and homophobic slurs.
In reality, the two men who attacked him were two Nigerian brothers that he himself paid to make the news and boost his declining career. It did the opposite as he was thrown out of Empire’s cast and is facing felony charges.
